Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway

First off, this game is one of many WWII shooters out there on the 360. However the plot this go around is unique. Opening up the road to Berlin for the allies is a good story. The basic set up is you lead squads of troops and try to take down the Nazis and most of the time your behind enemy lines airborn style.

The game is solid and packs some punch. Some of the later missions have you going up against the nazis in more traditional FPS style gameplay. But around 85% of the time you are sending the two squads to lay down cover fire and to pin down the enemy soldiers behind cover. Cover fire is awesome in this game. A lot of obstacles and rubble make great cover for you to jump and hole yourself up temporarily behind. The gameplay in that sense takes the style that several other titles before it attempted and does very well.

The multi-player gameplay is not great. There is no balance or abundance of game types online and the tank controls are ok but not solid. The online was not well recieved by gamers and after a month with the game we found only one match with one other player in it. This was to few players to actually really play the game because the match need people in and out of the tank on one side and at least three defenders to make the basic capture the flag multiplayer online work well.

The game is visually stimulating in that you will often see mud and flying rock or metal after explosions or gun fire. The heavy machine guns are great and are equally lethal. It's a lot like ripping a turret off in Halo 3 and running around mowing people down in the dozens. Only in the case the foes are not zombie hordes of the flood. Rather they are nazi hordes and this brings me to the real stunning feature in the gun fights in this game. The headshots are brutal and graphic enough for any whore to say, holy shit! There are also chances that if you land an especially well aimed or placed shot or grenade, you will get a slow motion zoomed in view of the death and mayham. The game is very fun and is very, very challanging on a hard difficulty late in the levels/story. Cut scenes actually add a lot to the telling of the story as well. They make you feel like your playing a Steven Speilberg directed WWII flick. The characters become important to you and are crucial to a real story line that is being developed.
Ultimately this gets a score of 4.65 out of 5. A very worthy and high score. Though there is one disclaimer. This score reflects the single player game not the weak multiplayer. So be aware of that. This game is reviewed and scored as a game that we recommend as a single player game. And for you whores out there, most of the achievements are for the single player game and will be absolutley fun to earn.

Left 4 Dead 2 Demo review

Ok lets just get this review right to the point. I will answer the question posed by this site earlier this month. Yes this game is better than the first. Not only better but balanced and much greater. The special infected are more common and more varied owing to the fact that there are a few new additions to the zombie horde. As far as special infected the jockey is fantastic. He has a distinct growl and laugh that is pure mischievious hilarity. When he pounces the survivor and begins whiping him, ok not literally, like a horse all over the map, it is terror and a blast in equal parts.

Giving some air time to the blubber but boomer is worthy because now there are lady boomers. But the no nonesense add ons are the Charger, who will quite clearly pound your ass into the ground, and the spitter, who is more of a acid burn than a mating call to other zombies like that of the boomer bile. Which is another new feature. If you wan to intentionally confuse the horde by making them attack a spot you can now pick up viles of boomer bile and throw them at the location where you want the mayham to ensue. Also as far as the items in this game. There are alot. First there are melee weapons which if picked up replace your pistol. The frying pan is for quick humor and the night stick is not that great but the hackfest of the machete is just plain awesome. But there are many not playable in the demo. The chainsaw, axe, katana or samuri sword, and others are not to be found yet. Which brings me to guns. In just the demo there are the original hunting rifle and a very nice true sniper rifle with higher power kills as its long distance pleasure center. Also there are three shotguns playable in the demo alone. There is a very high power shredder in the Spas shoty and the silver plated shoty is a sligtly faster shot than the also present basic shotgun from the first game. The handgun is slightly better than before and to add to the M16 assualt rifle, there is now a AK47 to enjoy your 47 shot cartrigde and your 10 available cartridge payload keeps the fun up a lot better than the last games 360 bullets and your out rule.

This is just the beginning though. The demo level is the New Orleans "The Parish" level and the playable portion features 2 chapters and brings some splatter, shatter, and crumble to the fun. In this game the hordes are not only smarter but they respawn better. If you hang out to long a boomer or spitter is definately going to come put an end to your picnic.

Alright seriously now, the regular zombies have gotten some major attention. There are alot more types. And there are many different iterations instead of the 5 basic zombies from last time. The heavy or swat gear packing zombie will reign some hell on you in a bad moment. You can not just fire away or you will waste bullets. He will fall to the ground and get back up only to pound your ass for being to lazy or pansy assed to finish him proper.
The joy of seeing so many zombies is matched by the new pipe bomb which eplodes with much more gore. It will sever many limbs from the gathering hord and send them to the sky and splatter the area with the rest.
Also items seem to be placed according to where a survivor might actually need to look in case of an event such as a zombie apocalypse. Items are very useful because now there are adrenaline spikes, shock paddles to bring back your survivor pals from the dead, and the usual cocktail of fire we all love. There is still propane tanks and gas tanks as well so they won't be missed.
The demo brings alot of replay before the full game releases which is nice because as we have all learned by now, Crash Course is the worst content Valve has ever released.
There looks to be none of that in this game. Menus have been streamlined and now you can choose to play host server or dedicated server matches for online games. This should stop some of us bitching at least as much as we already have to.
Graphically there are some fixes and nicer images to gaze at while being a zombie killing master. Backgrounds are much less glitchy and seem to be better set up for versus matches. The demo features campaign of coarse, no versus, survivor, or the new salvage mode to play until the full game is released. But that matters not. This will be a better gaming experience as long as the other game modes play like the campaign.
Oh and if you happen to be pounced by a special infected, especially if its a hunter, someone should use a melee weapon to one shot kill his ass instead of wasting bullets. Also it is very pleasurable to watch the bastard fly off like a rag doll. Watch out though the smokers are better at hiding in key location to get their pulls. Attacks seem very well planned at times even on normal difficulty. Also there is a hint on the demo to things to come. A realism menu is found on the demo which only makes one wonder. What could possibly be entailed? I hope its like this. If you get pounced gravity hurts more and if friendly fire is a problem, someone will very quickly need those shock paddles. About those new paddles, they are one time use and replace your health pack spot on your inventory. So choose wisely. I can't wait to see how this affects game strategy in versus mode matches.
Long story short I reluctantly give this beast a score of 4.89 out of 5. Lets hope I am not mistaken in doing so. The changes that valve made to the first game have caused more trouble than good and ruined the best aspects of the game. Which is why there likely is no versus on this demo. I just hope that they are saving the best for last. Also just in case your wondering. Witches no longer just sit and wait for you to come along and piss them off. They bring the pms and instant incap to mobile dimensions. They wander around and will come for you with a vengence.
Enjoy people. And for everyone out there that is a fanboy of this game or those who believe valve will only make more garbage. Your both mistaken. This is a similar but very different game. Where gamers used to be able to joyride through levels they have multiple paths to choose and each allows the enemy to strike in different ways. This change alone means that versus will definately have much more interesting scores for those of us whores who know how to really play the game. Chargers are badass and by the way we haven't seen mud men or the special clown zombie from this demo either. And tanks will surely benefit from the amazing variety of help they will get in pounding survivors to pulps. Good Luck!

Lego Batman Demo review

Fun! Balanced! and Batman!
This is travellers tales take on Batman in the Lego world. This installment is yet another in a growing and great series of Lego world adaptations of titles or franchises we love. Star Wars complete saga and original saga were great and had some fun puzzles to solve. Indiana Jones was awesome as a Lego world. The first three Indiana Jones flicks were well represented and characters from all three are even playable. Now we get Lego Batman which actually was the first really great Batman game. It preceded the newer Batman Arkham Asylum and ended the PS2's reign of having some absolutely terrible Batman games to use as beer stands.

This demo is fun and lets you play through as either Batman and Robin or villians. Yes, I said Vilians. This is a blast. And it is E for everyone good. The game has complex puzzles but any kid could sit and play for hours and enjoy this game.
There are a lot of Bat gadgets and different suits that allow your heros to do different things. There are vehicles and there are enemies galore. This is a simple gaming experience but gamers and Batman fans should love it. It is great for getting into the world of Batman and does not just follow storylines from the origial Batman movies or the newer monster Blockbusters with that angry aussie that doesn't like set crews to screw up....at all.....Ever.....
The demo is very good and offers some decent time playing. You even get to throw down with Catwoman.

THe graphical style is perfect. Dark and seductively animated. Seductive in a gamers have waited for way to long to get rid of that mmajor woody that they got when they heard about the half dozen or so shit PS2 and last generation Batman titles. This demo and the full release of the Lego Batman game should do the trick to allow you to stand down. But of coarse if you really want to get rid of that symptom of blue balls.......Play Arkham Asylum. This demo gets a 4.38 out of 5. Enjoy it you bunch of Achievment seeking, tea bag happy, dirty whores.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 demo

Ok, I will try to be completely fair.  Well, no I won't.  This game is the newest iteration from the acclaimed soccer series that used to be another name.  It used to be the very solid Winning Eleven soccer franchise.  Under its new name it has shed its odd habbits, like use of nickanames for teams rather than club names, and replacing them with very nice graphics and solid playablility.  Though the game is still harder to pick up and play for the non-soccer hooligans or less hardcore Futbol fans.

Yet the game is a decent demo.  You get to play a full match with 6 different teams to choose from including Liverpool, France, Germany, and Italy.  The game is pretty nice but I warn you now the shooting is touchy as a rabbid moose.  The trick is to really get the timing down and get used to making alot of crosses with the ball instead of running downfielf, making a simple pass or two, and scoring. I.E. the FIFA series way.

Passing is well rounded and clearing the ball streamlined.  Yet players have some trouble manuevering in tight with each other. This is actually a good thing though as it appears players are fighting for positiion on the field.
Now I am not saying that FIFA is a bad game.  Rather I am simply stating that if you really love soccer, PES 2010 will likely be the better fit.  Not this series has had trouble in recent years trying to compete with EA's greedy exclusivity rights spending.  As of today I can't tell you how many teams the full game will include.  But I can tell you that this is a fun demo and well worth the download.  Score of 4.13 out of 5.

Section 8 demo review

This demo is good for one reason.  It is a live multiplayer demo.  Other wise the controls are frustrating and the game aiming very impercise.  The visuals on the one map that is playable is just ok and the character design is fairly original.  The demo is a little incomplete feeling but is a full game of mulitplayer online which is more than many demos offer.  The better demo for online is GRID.  But this demo does have some positives.  It does not feature the full game content or items and has an abundance of different classes and turrets etc that a player can deploy.

The ultimate playablilty of this game comes from rockets and frag launchers but are missiing a key element.  Being readily able to hit a target that you are aiming at.  This impercision plagues the game and the odd running and sprinting system and placement of LB as the jump button makes the game feel like it was made by Capcom.

Being dropped out of the sky and hitting mid air brakes is neat but the best element of the technology invovled is the story behind the title.  Basically you are a futuristic version of USA's elite and super secret military unit, Section 8.  You are a master chief style ass kicker and can like wise take a lot of shit before dying.  Well actually jumping around won't hurt you but there are times when someone somehow manages to rock you out with a little graze shot or lucky bounce of the bigger boom guns.

It is a toss up whether the HUD of your first person shooter view is a plus or an odd minus.  But it at least factors in your mech/suit/armor and helmet.  The game is not smooth but is also no as glitchy as many other demos.  For this fact alone gets the demo an extra edge over other reviews.

Control issues aside the game is large in the fact that it is up to 32 players in a online match but small in that the demo is a minor fraction of what this game is ultimmately suppossed to bring to the table.  Who knows what will happen with the full release version of the game.  But the game recieves a 2.98 out of 5.  If the aiming system was better it would have easily been a 3.5 out of 5.  But no dice folks.  See it for yourself.  Hopefully there will be more than six players in your match because the map is big enough that if you know where to go you can complete objectives unseen from the few opponents on the map.

NBA 2k10 demo

This as usual a good game.  Why, because it is a sports title from 2k sports.  The game plays nice and the animations are seemless.  The game has decent animations as well.  The ultimate problem with the demo is that you can't change the camera angle and i hate the view that you are stuck with.  Side to side and slightly above the court.  Seriously?  The demo looks great and even though you can only play as Orlando or LA, it is not that big of a draw back.  The demo is basic and at least lets you play a game.  Some sports demos lately only let you play half a game or even 1 minute quarters.  The passing and swatting of passes are ok but hopefully will get some attention before the release of the real game.

The demo is good overall and recieves a 4.00 out of 5.  The game would benefit from a simpler timing for 3 pts shots as well.  Anywho.......the game will be great for those gamers and whores who already like basketball and those sports types who actually follow the NBA regularly.  For everybody else the consolation is that this will definately be better than NBA live 10.  Not to mention this year gamers can play on live in full playable 5 on 5 games where you can get you and your buddies to own 5 other bitches, i mean whores, i mean gamers in a friendly hoops match.  This is a step in the right direction.

Darkest of Days Demo

For starters lets just say this is one of the longest demos on xbox live service.  The visual style is lacking and the overall graphical quality is not all there.  The gameplay overall works ok being that you are changing rather quickly between a modern machine gun and a civil war musket or wwI semi automatic pistol, or a set of balls, yes balls, that non-lethally incap your specail objective past men of value.  So we are running around in a civil war battlefield or at Custers last Stand and are fighting with a modern weapon and none of your buddies notices you mowing down fifty guys faster than they can load three shots in their muskets.  And your there to protect the integrity of history.  Hmmmmmmm...  There is no way to put this delicately.  This game idea may sound interesting on paper and play decent in practice but in practical game story telling it leaves one wondering what the hell is going on.  There is a woman called mother sending you out on very poorly explained missions and an enemy which is not in the remotest way explained other than the use your imagination folks way.  And that isn't even to mention the unbelievable simplicity of controls.  You can carry two guns at a time and some hand grenades and little green glowing balls to throw.  Where is the link between one point in history and the next and why is also a question that pops in my head repeatedly.  This is not what typical gaming experieces should include.  Cuasing a gamer confusion is like taking a jagged stick and poking a wild grizzly bear.  You better not be carrying a picnic basket either.  You are already asking for it.  Seriously now, why in the hell would this game seem logical.  Well it has been made and it isn't entirely a crap experience.  The demo is long and you get to shoot alot of stuff.  Actually you even get to run through corn fields mowing to rebel soldiers.  Not bad.  If you can get past the bizarre premise of this game it has some decent moments.  Not at all worth the $60 price tag new games grab these days, but maybe wait for it a little while.  Like a year or at least until a lot of people have traded it in.  The score on this one is a decent 3.24  out of 5.  This game gets a little boost in the fact that you can actually play it for a while.  And the targeting system is so basic it is just easy fun.  So ultimately you get to tear some shit up and destroy historical moments at the games....well...let's just say you whores are not getting a bonus for doing it,....but it is too much to resist.  Some times it just is so right to be so wrong........

Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010 demo review

Cabela's has had a long history now of making fun pc and console hunting adventure games.  In this year's iteration though they have outdone every prior title they have released.  Just inside of this unfortunately rather short demo, you can hunt two types of deer, mallard ducks, rabbit, and even an attacking moutain lion.  In this year's version also is a very fun set of additional gameplay features.  First is the heart, lung, brain, and spine function that pops up inside the animal you are locking in on with your rifle scope.  It allows you to think of where the best shot is on the animal according to where your taking your shot from.  You now have to also try to find the best cover for your shot so that you really surprise the beast before you take it to the ground.  Then there is also the fact that shooting from a crouching position is a different ball game than trying to shoot standing straight up.  We tried several different shots behind random obstacles and found there really was a difference in every location and that each one changes the result of your shot even ever so slightly.  The game has one further feature that makes a difference.  You click in your RB button to bring up your hunter's instinct view that helps you track game, find good hding spots to take shots, and now also helps you avoid natural features and obstacles that would make you more noisy or cause the game to freak out and scamper away in terror.  I mean in the demo alone your carrying an arsenal.  A scoped .44 is a noce little hand gun cannon and two rifles with scopes for the long shots make it pleasantly well rounded.  Then there is the shotgun which is largely useful for the duck hunt style feature and the rabbit terrorizing that you get to enjoy here.  I personally chose to use the .44 and the shoty to blast the hell out of that mountain lions face and ass.  But I was penalized points wise for taking such recklass shots.  Well, I don't mind that part at all because this game is well rounded enough that if you want to play levels over and over you can find new ways to play them and random spawns of wild game surely accompany the final release of the full game.  Well this one recives a score of 4.19 out of 5.  It would have been a better score if there was more to do in this rather short demo.  Or even just making it a longer experience.  But regardless of that this game is a blast and will certainly rev up the hunting buffs and shooter fans alike.  Enjoy this gamers and whores because this is a rare gem of demo land in that it actually is not glitchy or essentially half assed.  The visuals are also very nice and look great on a nice lcd wide screen presentation.  Enjoy.....!

Magna Carta 2 out now

This game is fierce and looks equally as ferocious.  Gameplay is a hybrid of turn based and real time and has a graphic feel that is unmatched by any other title out now on the 360.  Magna Carta 2 uses the Unreal Engine 3 to drive its robust and deep color rich world and gameplay.  Anime style cut scenes present the story line that is sort of choose your own destiny style and allows interaction that very few other games can manage.  If you already enjoy a good RPG then this game should be your next purchase.  If we can get our hands on a demo we will have a review of that soon.  This game is very artistic and creative.  Character design was done by the renowned Korean Manga artist Hyung-Tac Kim, which brings forward a driving gameplay with a wealth of design that is hard to find in the gaming world today.  Often characters end up losing the battle with the game's world.  The game has great potential to be RPG of the year and also has some solid in game music which leaves the gamer where he or she should be.......not distracted by corny repititious elevator sound but rather engrossed deeply into the experience.  This should wind up being a fantastic gaming experience.  More to come later.

Battlefield 1943 on xbox live

The achievements are fairly straight forward in this game but the level of fun is much higher.  The game is totally great except for lag death and other online issues.  But the game is pretty well supported and would benefit from a map pack expansion.  Tank driving is a blast and melee kills are great.  The plane is a bit wonky to fly but still is a good bit of fun.  The parachuting is fun.  The maps are Pacific theater WWII and so are limited to Island hopping but this is a good thing.  The major fun is that 24 gamers can whore with eachother and slaughter the other side with fury so fine tuned that even lag death doesn't destroy the joy.
Overall this game is a 3.96 out of 5.  The game will ideally see a content expansion but will likely never get to see one.  Regardless this game is whoreriffic and that's a great thing.  Hope to see you in the game soon, don't take the group tea bagging seriously, unless its your team mates doing it.

Forza 3 and Forza 2 Memories sweet Memories

This is a beast game and the next installment is around the corner in November. The only trouble is how to say goodbye to such a solid old friend. I guess ill tea bag the game case and throw it into the pile with the rest of the greatness that makes it way to the no longer played stack. Forza gamers need not worry the next one looks bigger and badder than the last. Anticipation score of 4.78 out of 5. This game looks solid and smells like victory. And it is just like roses. This shit don't stink.
Anyway here are some good stills of the game coming soon. The second game was an absolute blast (as long as you don't ask Bearcat 69 that is) and the game has so much replay value that it literally has been found to glow when left in a dark place to long. Ok not really but it is the only quality racing mulitplayer experience because you can progress your career and earn cash to work on cars all while dusting your buddies.
